A lawn softener or soil conditioner will soften the soil and allow the water and nutrients to get to the roots. Some people shampoo the lawn, you can also use dish soap, but the combo of soap plus yucca extract is very beneficial to the lawn!
I used 1oz per gallon of yucca extract, and 4oz per gallon of Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. This time I made two gallons and used a hose end sprayer set to 4oz.
