Sharpening lawn mower blades is a lot easier than I used to think. I used to bring them to a shop to get sharpened. I’ve tried sharpening blades with a bench grinder, with a blade sharpening tool, and found sharpening blades with an angle grinder to be the best way.
The angle grinder with a flap disc is much easier to get around the shape of mulching blades on the Honda HRX217. When I used the bench grinder I always had trouble keeping the correct grinding angle on the bends.
Now with the flap disc and the angle grinder I can sharpen the blades quickly and without much thinking. I get them sharp and ready to go in a few minutes. I’m nobody special when it comes to sharpening blades so if I can do it, you can too!
