Weekly Urea and Fertilizing the Overseeded Lawn

I am applying 1lb of Urea (1/2lb of nitrogen) every week to my kentucky bluegrass. It’s an aggressive fall fertilizer technique, sometimes called spoon feeding. The small but frequent apps of fast release fertilizer gets gobbled up by the grass rapidly and causes it to fill in and thicken up dramatically.

Should you mulch leaves into your lawn or rake them up

Great news! Mulching leaves into your lawn is actually the best way to get rid of them. It helps your soil, your lawn, and is actually easier than disposing of them.

Fall Weed Control with Roundup For Lawns

Fall is a great time to kill weeds. The plants are beginning to transfer nutrients to the roots, which means any weed killer will go straight to the roots for a good kill.

Should you Sharpen New Lawn Mower Blades?

When you buy a new set of lawn mower blades, they will come painted. Some say to sharpen the blade to get the paint off, others say to leave it on. I tried it out, the results are in the video!

Soaping up the edges of my lawn

Using dish soap on the edges of your lawn, and other brown spots, is an easy way to allow more water into the soil to turn the brown grass green.
