I’m never afraid to try something out, so I gave lawn aerator shoes a go! I’ll be using them throughout the summer and seeing if they actually help a problem area or not!

Lawn care experts always say you should mow cool season lawns as tall as possible. But what if you could mow it short?
I’m experimenting with the concept of growing Kentucky Bluegrass at 1 inch in my backyard. I know some people grow it shorter but that is the lowest my reel mower will go.

I saw DankYield on Instagram and asked if they would send me a sample to play with. I like the idea, and the ingredients, so I’m putting it to the test!
I’ll be spraying the tomatoes, lawn, and some flowers weekly to see how it affects the growth. We will see who the winner is in a few weeks!

I decided to see how a lawn roller would handle lawn stripes. They came out very nice. What I enjoyed about this was the quietness of it. I did it early morning before everyone was awake.
The only con of a lawn roller, you need to push all that weight. But it wasn’t too bad. The striped lawn looks amazing though.

I was feeling patriotic so I wanted to try making wavy stripes, like that of a flag blowing in the wind. I figured the pivot point of the toro lawn striping kit would make it an excellent choice for these lawn stripes.
I will say that I was disappointed in the performance in these stripes. It didn’t do as well at “erasing” the old stripes as the checkmate striping kit does. I will try wavy stripes again with the checkmate and see if it handles the turns and brings out better stripes later!
